Alerta: Albright ne aduce moarte si sterilitate

România ar putea iniţia în toamna acestui an, odată cu începerea noului an şcolar, un program de vaccinare a tinerelor împotriva cancerului uterin, au anunţat, joi, premierul Tăriceanu şi fostul secretar de stat american Madeleine Albright, preşedinte al companiei de consultanţă Albright Group.

Un mesaj postat pe Forumul unui Portal educational informeaza asupra unui potential pericol major:
La Bucuresti, Madeleine Albright, fost Secretar de Stat al SUA, a facut zilele trecute lobby pe langa presedintele Traian Basescu si primul ministru Calin Popescu Tariceanu pentru ca Romania sa adopte vaccinul Gardasil, pentru "prevenirea cancerului de col uterin" (HPV). O asemenea deplasare nu este chiar de "binefacere umanitara", ci se intreprinde pe bani foarte multi: chiar si sute de mii de dolari, in cazul ei. Compania de medicamente Merck & Co se asteapta la vanzari de cel putin 4 miliarde de dolari anual doar in SUA, militand pentru ca vaccinul HPV sa fie administrat in scoli obligatoriu. Costul dozele vaccinului "obligatoriu" leviteaza in jurul a 300 de euro pentru o persoana. In Romania sunt circa 125.000 de tinere eleve care ar urma să fie vaccinate "obligatoriu". Adevarul despre afacerea Gardasil si efectele vaccinului - aspecte ignorate de presa romana parca iresponsabila - este insa mult mai tenebros: atat in Canada cat si in SUA, unde s-a incercat deja administrarea "obligatorie" a vaccinului Gardasil de catre politicieni influentati financiar de cartelul farmaceutic, initiativa a fost respinsa in mai toate statele in care a fost propusa. Cetatenii caandieni si americani si-au dat seama ca un vaccin netestat pe termen lung si cu efecte secundare necunoscute inca pe deplin, sau stiute si deliberat ascunse, nu este sigur si nici necesar, mai ales injectat fetelor de la 9 la 15 ani (Vezi Hundreds get sick from Gardasil cancer vaccine mai jos).
Efectele secundare observate imediat au fost: greaţa, voma, temperatura ridicata, mancarimi ale pielii, dureri musculare, spasme bronsitice, astm, sau chiar paralizie, apendicită si dezvoltarea artritei la noua femei din cele circa 11.000 care au participat intr-un studiu clinic de scurta durata, ceea ce ridica probabilitatile la sute in cazul injectarii obligatorii a femeilor din Romania. Si pentru o femeie activa sexual vaccinul reprezinta un risc imens pe termen lung, chiar si posibila sterilitate, conform unor alerte disponibile pe internet. Au existat inclusiv cazuri de decese descoperite de Grupul Judicial Watch (vezi articolul Judicial Watch Uncovers New FDA Records Detailing Deaths in 1,824 Adverse Reaction Reports Related to HPV Vaccine mai jos).
Infectia cu HPV este poate fi prevenita prin alte mijloace ca si monogamia, protejarea sexuala, testarea regulata, etc.
Daca o femeie a contractat totusi HPV, acesta este detectabil cu un simplu test Pap, iar abnormalitatile cervicale pot fi prevenite inainte de-a se transforma in tumori maligne.
In plus, in peste 90% din cazuri, virusul este eliminat complet din organism, la nastere.
Cand cineva ca Madeleine Albright - care a facut afirmatia ca pretul platit prin moartea a jumatate de milion de copii Irakieni "a meritat" si a dispus si bombardarea civililor din capitala Serbiei -, incearca sa influenteze prin lobby direct responsabilii Romaniei, in scopul "obligativitatii" acestui vaccin, este normal sa ne punem si cateva intrebari (Vezi "We Think the Price Is Worth It" la http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=1084 si TIME: Albright grimly repeated America's commitment to bomb Belgrade In Cache).

Texas governor defeated on controversial vaccine mandate

Texas Gov. Rick Perry's executive order mandating that public schoolgirls receive a new vaccine against a virus that can lead to cervical cancer was rescinded this week by state lawmakers by an overwhelming vote of 181 to 3 -- a move that represents a triumph of public-health precaution over a corporate money grab.On Feb. 2, Perry, a Republican, issued an order that required all sixth-grade girls to be inoculated with Gardasil, a vaccine manufactured by pharmaceutical giant Merck that's been found to protect against some of the most common strains of human papillomavirus. HPV causes genital warts and abnormal cervical cells, which can lead to cancer if left untreated.Perry chastised lawmakers for their action in an emotional press conference during which he showed a big-screen video of 31-year-old cervical cancer patient Heather Burcham of Houston, who spoke from her bed with an oxygen tube up her nose, the Houston Chronicle reported:
"In the next year, more than a thousand women will likely be diagnosed with this insidious yet mostly preventable disease," said Perry. "I challenge legislators to look these women in the eyes and tell them, 'We could have prevented this disease for your daughters and granddaughters, but we just didn't have the gumption to address all the misguided and misleading political rhetoric.' "Despite his efforts to paint himself as a women's health advocate, Perry's championing of Gardasil has been troubled by the appearance of conflicts of interest. The Associated Press reported earlier this year that one of Merck's three lobbyists in Texas is Mike Toomey, Perry's former chief of staff. In addition, Perry had a meeting with key aides about Gardasil on Oct. 16, 2006 -- the same day Merck donated $5,000 to his campaign, according to the AP.Merck engaged in an aggressive lobbying campaign to get states to impose Gardasil mandates, suspending the effort earlier this year amid growing criticism. The company carried out the campaign through funds provided to Women in Government, an organization of female state legislators, some of whom have introduced legislation promoting Gardasil. To date, 39 states and the District of Columbia have considered some sort of pro-Gardasil legislation, with 25 states considering mandates, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Virginia and the District of Columbia have already approved those mandates, the Washington Post reports.The mainstream media have tended to portray Gardasil's foes as religious conservatives or people who reflexively oppose the use of all vaccines. But there are other reasons to be wary of Gardasil mandates; even the venerable Journal of the American Medical Association came out against them in a recent editorial titled "Public Health vs. Private Wealth."For one thing, the vaccine is not without potential serious side effects. Of the 11,813 people who received Gardasil in the clinical trial leading to its approval, nine developed arthritis, indicating an autoimmune reaction to the inoculation, according to a report by cancer expert Dr. Ralph Moss. If 2 million girls were vaccinated annually, that would put the anticipated number of arthritis cases each year at about 1,520 -- not an insignificant figure, especially considering that transmission of the virus is preventable by other means, and that cervical abnormalities caused by HPV can be detected by Pap tests and treated before they become cancerous.There have been safety problems with other federally approved vaccines in the past. In the 1990s, for example, the Food and Drug Administration approved Wyeth's RotaShield vaccine against a virus that can cause severe diarrhea in babies. But by 1999, the agency was forced to withdraw RotaShield after doctors found it put babies at a higher risk of intussusception, a potentially life-threatening intestinal condition. And last year, FDA approved another anti-rotavirus called RotaTeq made by Merck. Though clinical trials found no significant risk of intussusception, the FDA earlier this year announced that 28 babies who got the shot developed the disorder.JAMA pointed out that state Gardasil mandates raise liability and compensation concerns:
By making the vaccine mandatory, the state would probably complicate tort claims, with some courts holding that the manufacturer had no (or reduced) responsibility for consumer harms. Ethically, if the state mandates an intervention, it should also provide a compensation system, for example, through the no-fault National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. As with other vaccines, issues of legal liability and fair compensation must be considered carefully.And then there's the considerable cost of Gardasil. Merck's base price for the vaccine is $360, with administration fees adding another $100 or so. Given that it's still unknown whether Gardasil provides lifelong protection from HPV or would have to be administered periodically, that would put a potentially big financial burden on girls and their families -- and big bucks into Merck's coffers. Expected annual sales of Gardasil have been estimated at $4 billion.
Finally, it should be noted that women who get regular Pap tests almost never die of cervical cancer. Yet ironically enough, Gov. Rick Perry in 2001 vetoed a bill that would have provided cancer screening to poor women.So much for his commitment to women's health.(ADDENDUM: Since publishing the above post, I came across an article in today's Los Angeles Times that reports on a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine that raises serious questions about Gardasil's efficacy. While the vaccine blocked almost all infections by the two HPV strains that it targets, it reduced the incidence of cancer precursors by only 17 percent overall. The data suggested that blocking the targeted strains "might have opened an ecological niche that allowed the flourishing of HPV strains previously considered to be minor players, partially offsetting the vaccine's protection," the paper reports. Another reason to approach Gardasil mandates with caution.)

To summarize this published medical journal article:
1. In the FUTURE I trial, GARDASIL demonstrated no clinical efficacy among the general subject population for overall reduction in the rates of grade 2 and grade 3 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and adenocarcinoma -- the only recognized precursors to cervical cancer.
2. In the larger FUTURE II trial, GARDASIL demonstrated no clinical efficacy among the general subject population for overall reduction in the rates of grade 3 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and adenocarcinoma -- the strongest (and many would argue only valid) precursors to cervical cancer.
3. Extrapolating from GARDASIL's very limited clinical "success" (in the FUTURE II study only) against grade 2 cervical dysplasias (40% of which regress spontaneously), 129 women would be have to be vaccinated (at a cost of about $60,000) to prevent a single grade 2 cervical dysplasia.
4. GARDASIL's protection against cancer associated HPV strains 16 and 18 appears to cause a disproportionate increase in of pre-cancerous dysplasias associated with other HPV strains associated with cervical cancer "raising the possibility that other oncogenic HPV types eventually filled the biologic niche left behind after the elimination of HPV types 16 and 18."

Even if you segregate out the women who hadn't been previously exposed to either HPV 16 or 18, we are talking about just a 17% decrease in all high grade dysplasias (266 out of 6080 vs. 219 out of 6087) -- many of which would spontaneously regress without treatment. So we would have vaccinate 129 women (at about $500 for the three shot regimen) to avoid a single, eminently treatable dysplasia. That's about $60,000 per dysplasia prevented.This is all directly from the article linked above.I myself would add that we currently have only 3 years of follow up to go on in terms of both GARDASIL's safety and efficacy among the 16 to 26 year female population, no data concerning its efficacy among 9 to 12 year old girls and only 18 months of follow up on less than 600 total preteen girls in terms of safety data about GARDASIL within its targeted population.

Judicial Watch Sues FDA for Producing “Partial Response” to FOIA Request
(Washington, DC) -- Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today released new documents obtained from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, detailing 1,824 reports of adverse reactions to the vaccination for human papillomavirus (HPV), Gardasil, including as many as eight deaths related to the vaccine. Judicial Watch had previously obtained 1,637 reports relating to Gardasil on May 15, 2007, bringing the known total to 3,461 adverse reactions including eleven deaths since FDA approval. Among the new information uncovered by Judicial Watch:
• “20-Jun-2007: Information has been received…concerning a 17 year old female who in June 2007…was vaccinated with a first dose of Gardasil…During the evening of the same day, the patient was found unconscious (lifeless) by the mother. Resuscitation was performed by the emergency physician but was unsuccessful. The patient subsequently died.”
• “12-Jun-2007: Information has been received…concerning a 12 year old female with a history of aortic and mitral valve insufficiency…who on 01-MAR-2007 was vaccinated IM into the left arm with a first does of Gardasil…On 01-MAR-2007 the patient presented to the ED with ventricular tachycardia and died.”
• 28-Aug-2007: Initial and follow-up information has been received from a physician concerning an “otherwise healthy” 13 year old female who was vaccinated with her first and second doses of Gardasil. Subsequently, the patient experienced…paralysis from the chest down, lesions of the optic nerve…At the time of the report, the patient had not recovered.”
From May 10 to September 7, 2007, the 1,824 adverse vaccination reactions reported to the FDA via the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) included 347 serious reactions. Of the 77 women who received the vaccine while pregnant, 33 experienced side effects ranging from spontaneous abortion to fetal abnormities. Other serious side effects continue to be reported including, paralysis, Bells Palsy, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, and seizures.
“In light of this information, it is disturbing that state and local governments might mandate in any way this vaccine for young girls,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These adverse reaction reports suggest the vaccine not only causes serious side effects, but might even be fatal.”
Judicial Watch filed its request on August 20, 2007, and received the adverse event reports from the FDA on September, 13 2007. (On October 3, 2007, Judicial Watch filed a new lawsuit against the FDA for its failure to fully respond to Judicial Watch’s FOIA request as required by law.)
